Unforgettable Moments

Time was about 9.02 am.
Church service was on.

Then came this thundering noise.
It felt like the hall we were in was caving in.

The closest I could remember was the experience in the 2002, when there was an explosion at the Ikeja Military Cantonment.
The impact was felt everywhere in Lagos, and beyond.

"What happened" was the question on everyone's lips.

As expected, lives were lost, properties destroyed and  several families were left devastated.....

Many people may never recover from this particular experience.

So, what happened?

I don't even know what to believe.
Gas explosion?
Pipeline explosion?
Bomb explosion?

This is Nigeria, where almost everyone has his own side of every happening!
And has the government given any official update?
I'm not certain.....

What do 'we' say to these things?
The scourge of covid19 all over the world is bad enough o.

What does one tell these families whose home, loved ones and properties were taken away in a flash?
What does one tell the family of that reverend sister, the Principal/Administrator of that Catholic school, who lost her life while trying to save the lives of the students in her care?

And another family perished.... mother, father, and their son whose wedding was slated for April 18th???

It's been tears, tears and more tears.....

While praying that God rests the souls of the departed; comfort the bereaved and grant them His peace, you and I must ask ourselves.....
*If I was at the scene of that explosion, what would be my fate?"
